Nick Brasco: Comic Book Superstar
Submitted by apfurtado on March 15, 2006 - 04:28
This 10 page short by AP. Furtado addresses a concept that is predominant in the comic book industry. That concept being the big fish/ small pond theory and of how painful it can be for the big fish when reality rears its ugly head. Check it out at Underground Pop Online.

Heh. That's what happens when you start thinking your comic book is a collectible instead of something you can roll up and stick in your pocket. Which oddly enough sums up most of what I think the problem is with the comics direct market. I'd rather be read than boarded and bagged. I think I'll put that on a t-shirt.

Funny, but you know, also with that ring of truth thing too...
I could really feel for the guy when the farmer takes the comic book, rolled it up and jammed it in his back pocket. The expression on the artist's face is perfect.
