Matt Sandbrook animates the Big Noisy Book of Vehicles


In addition to being the creator of Chip Shop Adventures and an all-round great guy, Matt Sandbrook is also a freelance animator. His latest project is the companion DVD for a children's book, The Big Noisy Book of Vehicles. There are cats in submarines, flamingos flying helicopters and bears racing go-karts.

So way back in the dawn of Webcomics, I came up with this nutty idea.  Since I didn't want to spend actual time drawing a Webcomic, I figured I'd put together some Perl scripts to draw one.  Toonbots ran from 2000 to late 2001, eventually adopting a sort of fractal hiatus pattern and limping along even until this year.  And who knows?  The Muse may kick back in any day.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a decent picture of the ceiling, which is the Rebel force approaching the Death Star in the battle of Endor (you can see a sliver of Endor in the above pic).


Also, one of our local papers ran a story on our mural at the Boy Scout House.
