Beaver and Steve skinned alive!

Oh! I forgot to post this little bit of Beaver and Steve fun - one of my readers has put a lot of work into creating a Beaver and Steve skin for Messenger Plus (don't worry he didn't actually skin Beaver and Steve and then stretch their bloody pelts across the internet. That would be wrong.) and it looks fantastic:

I especially love all the little icons - look Beaver is on the phone! It is ADOREABLE.

It feels like far too long since I have posted anything on here - do you still remember me, internet? I'm going to try to get in the habit of posting some art up here a bit more often, partly to encourage myself to draw more, but mostly because I just miss the instant feedback of posting stuff online. Yes! The validation of strangers is the best kind!

I was away all weekend, but when I finally got a chance to check my post this morning I was in for a nice surprise - my artwork is on the cover of the DFC this week! I'll try to scan it in at some point so you can take a look, but here's a little preview from the DFC website:

#346 - He ate us - part 1

Yes, I'm afraid it's true: I'm putting Beaver and Steve on the dreaded 'indefinite hiatus'. I've been incredibly lucky and managed to get someone to pay me to draw a new comic, but I've realised that working a full time job, then coming home and working another full time job doesn't really leave me with much time to spend thinking up unfeasible new adventures.

who is the Sapphire Streak?

Part of the job I did for the Times was to draw the winner of their competition as a superhero, and they finally announced the winner, so here's the prize picture I drew:

Pirates with Problems

I don't really post much art on this blog, so here are the rough pencils for a panel from the latest episode of Super Animal Adventure Squad:

#345 - the one and clonely - part 6

THE END.

Hey, I did some illustrations for the Times newspaper here in the UK - if you'd like to see you can take a look here. It is full of handy hints!

I am still very busy working on the second series of 'Super Animal Adventure Squad' for the DFC, so I am not sure what is going to happen to Beaver and Steve next week - I guess we will have to wait and see!

How to draw a comic strip superhero

Here's a link to the PDF of the page on "How To Draw a Comic Strip Superhero" I did for the Times.

I hope you'll all be practising drawing with my terrible terrible advice!

I'm excited to reveal that I have a full page illustration in the Times today - if anyone has a copy or can sneak a peak in a newsagents it's on the Young Times page, page 34 of the Times2 pullout. It came out quite well considering I was up until 5am finishing it! It's a series of panels telling kids how to draw their own super hero - will try to scan in a copy once I get home.

#344 - the one and clonely - part 5

Sorry for the late update - I've been busy carrying boxes around for the last 3 days. Story finishes next week!
