My Life in Records is a comic book series that tells the story of three brothers who are obsessed with music. Into My Heart is the second issue of the series and begins with Tom’s brush with death in a swimming pool. This experience combined with a kiddie gospel record gets Tom asking lots of questions.
What is the difference between the Holy Ghost and Scary Ghosts?
Does Jesus stick out of people if He comes to live inside the heart of a person who is shorter than Him?

I made this little mini comic for my after school comic club to show them how to make a little mini comic. You can download it, print it (on BOTH SIDES of ONE sheet of paper) and make it yourself. Be sure to download both pages!
Once you print it, here's the instructions for assembling it.

I have developed an after school club that will meet next spring once a week where these students can come and hone their storytelling skills and eventually publish their own books with full color screen printed covers and xeroxed interior pages.
However, there is very little money for this program and some eager artists are unable to pay the $3 dues to cover drawing materials.

I was so inspired by Warren Craghead's latest little DIY book, I just had to try to make one today on our Fall holiday. The day off actually coincided with Yom Kippur and though I'm not Jewish, I think it affected me on a subconscious level, because it turned out kind of dark.
Can anybody guess the song from which I derived the plot? (Hint: Nearly every line of text in the comic reinterprets or directly quotes lines from the lyrics from this song.)

Flannery O'Connor once said of her own writing, "my subject in fiction is the action of grace in territory held largely by the devil."

I've had a chance to get caught up a little bit with My Life in Records, and I'm proud to say that I've just finished penciling my 50th page! Its not necessarily the first 50 pages in sequence. In fact one page I drew is the opening page from Chapter 4, but I was so excited about it when I thumb nailed it, that I had to draw the real thing.
