Random Commission Piece

I was asked to draw myself as a mad scientist. After hemming and hawing forever, I went with this, based on a classic Nikola Tesla promo photo of Tesla doing what he does best: chilling in his own lightning.

Incidentally, my rates for art commissions are very reasonable. Email me at narbonic at sbcglobal.net if you want me to draw stuff.

New Li'l Mell!

Look! New Li'l Mell! This is a big day for Shovelhead.

Also...new William Bazillion!

For the record, I pushed for Andrew to do the entire House.

New William Bazillion and Li'l Mell!

It's Wednesday, and that means a new Li'l Mell!

Also, I did a guest Thanksgiving strip for The Chronicles of William Bazillion. With, as noted, apologies to Alex Robinson.

I saw him feeding the ducks today!

"The second one was very peculiar," my grandmother said. "There was a family called Christiansen. They lived up on Holmenkollen, and they had an old oil-painting in the living room which they were very proud of. The painting showed some ducks in the yard outside a farmhouse. There were no people in the painting, just a flock of ducks on a grassy farmyard and the farmhouse in the background. It was a large painting and rather pretty. Well, one day their daughter Solveg came home from school eating an apple. She said a nice lady had given it to her on the street.

In which Sergio continues to make wise decisions.

Also, Andrew has a new installment in the Chronicles of William Bazillion! In which...you know, this time I really have no words.

Also, do you like history comics? Do you like chess-playing automatons? Of course you do! In that case, you should be reading Jane Irwin's Clockwork Game.

New Comixology Column Up

This one's about dream comics.

Also, check out how friggin' cute Andrew and I were at APE. For what probably seemed like good reasons at the time, Andrew opted to wear Hawaiian shirts all weekend. Thanks to Eric Searleman for the photo.

Sometimes I think Andrew is just plain silly.

Mom's Speech to the Nation

My mother's on the road today, heading south to look after my great-aunt who's having foot surgery. I managed to pass on the good wishes of all my friends, online and off (she was toasted many times at my election party*), and ask her if she had any final statements on the election. She'd like to thank everyone who voted and announce that election night tuckered her out. Also, she's made some new friends through canvassing. And her Republican friends are being very quiet about the whole thing.
