Yes I strongly considered it changing the archive as well as the site itself. I wanted something that's similar to a lot of comic sites out there with the calendar type archives.
Been reading about it (wordpress, comicpress etc) although I get lost and not know where to start. Been busy with life and work and I guess I get a little lazy ;) so I stick to updating by batch for now. I'll definitely figure something out eventually.
if you ever end up switching to Comic Press, I can help (once the initial database is created, that's the only part still opaque to me). We've been getting three sets of comics archives online over at Dung Beetle Comics, and it's made a tremendous improvement in the former Comic Genesis sites.

I like the lighthearted tone of the comic!
Have you considered upgrading the navigation system to make it easier to move around the archives?

HI,
I'm looking into wordpress/comicpress and am considering the move into it. I just realized that I have over 400 strips in my archives.
If I do my move and place all 400 into the archives is it possible to 'retroactively' use the calendar to link them?
eg. my archives would have a calendar that 'dates' to 2005 which links to an older comic strip that I just uploaded.
thanks
