Page 8 of "A Joke" is up at misgiven.com. The site is also running on Drupal now. Let me know what you think.

I will check it out

If you're interested in seeing an implementation of the webcomic module check out altbrand.com - I installed it there although I haven't done much with it beyond set the module up.Â

I installed the module and

I installed the module and had it working, but the problem (and it seems to be a problem with Drupal generally) was that the images always show up as thumbnails on the front page. A couple of people have posted possible workarounds in the Drupal forums, but they seemed a bit technical and I haven't had time to try them yet. I'll let you know what I find, though.

Ok, I've spent a little time

Ok, I've spent a little time with the module, and I can't really recommend it to anyone in it's present state. It's different node types are hard to make work the way they're supposed to, and the navigation system between pages in a webcomic is pretty unintuitive. The navigation buttons don't show up at all until you've clicked on either the title of the post or the thumbnail image, which isn't obvious to a first-time visitor. If you want a full-size image on the front page rather than a thumbnail you can embed the image in the text of the post, but it's no longer clickable at that point.

There's a workaround for the thumbnail problem. Images uploaded to the front page of a site have to be thumbnail-size--you get around that by going into settings and changing the dimensions for thumbnail images to be the same as full-size images. The problem is that the images will all be full-size in your galleries, or "albums", too. If you don't want a browsable index of your past pages, then maybe it's a good compromise.

On the whole, the module needs some work before it can do for Drupal what Tyler Martin's Comicpress theme has done for Wordpress. I'm sticking with Drupal for other reasons (I don't mind embedding the image and putting in a couple of links to my gallery), but it would be nice to eventually have something that automates the posting process and navigation and archives, a la Comicpress or Webcomics Nation.

I haven't had time to mess enough yet but

to put the full size comic with the nav buttons on the front page you'll need to use the front page module and find or write a php snippet to display that. I don't expect that to be a hard thing to write if it doesn't already exist but like I said I haven't had a lot of time lately.Â
