Subtitles?

has anyone else done this sort of thing? Writing in subtitles when using an effect that completly takes up the frame? We used it in one comic so far, Comic004: Big Evil but I don't know what others think of it.

Anne Frank Conquers The Moon Nazis does it all the time, as normal dialog (well, at least in the last five or so comics)

hmm, personally I think that the subtitle boxes should only be used as a narrarators comments or as such. otherwise, speech bubbles arent hard to make at all.
