Neglected but Recommended Webcomics

What webcomics would you recommend which you think is relatively unknown---and is NOT your own---but which you think are very, very, very good? I personally would recommend LOTTE VS. THE DEAD at http://www.wirepop.com/comic_index.php?id=15, one of the Wirepop pay-per-view comics....but this one gives you at least twenty pages gratis. It's about a both chick who just happens to be the daughter of Mr. Perfect---a semi-Superman who runs a Justice League-like organization of easily recognizable takeoffs of other superheroes. Sort of like Infinity INc., except the daughter really, really, REALLY doesn't want to go into the family business---she'd rather ride her bike, smoke, play in a rock band. Her father keeps on calling her "Hypergirl". When she confronts the super-heroines of the organization---who yes, admit they have breast implants---and shows them for the frauds they are---well... Very impressed so far.---Al

Sea of Insanity Beautiful pencil art, and does a great job of combining fantasy and realism.

The Mousekaroos A classy colour comic, in its second incarnation - Sarah Davis had to rebuild the site after webhost problems, and took the opportunity to rework the story and art. It was pretty good to start with, and it's superb now.

It's different from a CYOA in that it can use JavaScript to randomise :) So while in a traditional CYOA pages 1 - 10 will ALWAYS be the same, in this pages 1-10 may be different :) I personally liked CYOA's and this looks like a good expansion of the idea :)

I'd recommend Twilight Agency as it's not your average webcomic.

Then Kelly, you must read this:

http://www.visitdeadends.com/

It's an interactive horror story and the site design is amazing!

I like this one: The Misadventures of Hello Cthulhu. Mr Plague's not the first to try the basic idea, but his inventiveness and C's Meldrewish frustration give it pep.

Another one that looks worthy of note: Zachary Parker's Flatwood. Done in a "funny comic" style, but moody and dark (literally - it helps to turn the monitor up a bit for some pages).

Not neglected...

Someone on my forum mentioned there seemed to be many comic creators who've hit bad artist blocks and there as an article or post about it on Comixpedia. Curious, I came looking for it and as I roamed the forums I found this thread.

It was rather a surprise to find that my comic was considered neglected.

Yes, I update slow with the comic. But we do NOT neglect our site. There IS content, the text stories. These stories are adventures which have happened in the past of our characters, told to give not only content to the site while the comic is on hiatus for production, but to also give the readers a good insight as to why the characters do and think as they do...what shaped them into the people they are at present time of the comic.

I realized that the date of this thread is old...but at the time these posts were done concerning Twilight Agency, we were then running a story titled "Padlock". We had content at the time. We were not neglecting our site.

I give as much of my time as possible to Twilight Agency. I've stopped reading many of the other webcomics I used to frequent as well as Comixpedia to give the time to my comic. For all this time spent, why is the comic still slow? Because I will not release "good enough" art. I used to and hated it. This is why I take my time, to try and do the best I can. I know that my art skill is lacking severely, and I know that the majority of web comic artists are far more skilled and faster than myself. I've a near constant problem with artist block which adds to my slowness.

What I'm trying to make clear is that D.A. and I do NOT neglect our site. There IS content. Now and then we skip a chapter of text story, but we do continue next update day.

Thank you for hearing me out.

RE: Re: Not neglected...

Bad conscience makes some creators word-blind. :D

Misunderstanding...

...and my sincere apologies for it.

Too many stressed days, too little sleep, and not reading clearly.

Thank you to John and others for pointing this out and clarifying.

I have more here. Most are long-form, but there are a few gag-a-day strips, too.

Of the lesser known comics I've reviewed lately, I'd have to recommend Eric Therialt's Veena (http://veena.keenspace.com/). It was done for print, but is finding a home on the web and plays host to some beautiful, if retro, inking.

For anyone looking to get any of these lesser known webcomics a little more free promo, I accept submissions from creators for a free but inadequate review by the characters in my strips. I add a few words too. They get a link and several hundred visitors out of the deal. The site's http://www.journeyintohistory.com and I love taking a stab at the lesser-knowns. I only accept the submission from a strip's creators though.

(If it is inappropriate for me to mention my review concept, feel free to delete that part of the post. It seems to fit well with the topic though so I thought I'd throw out the invite.)
