It's here folks, or actually, it's in that drop-down box above (the one called "Special Projects".
Three participants already, and some really kick-@$$ artwork up for grabs from webcomic's own Dr. Frankenstein, Jon Morris!

There's still a little more than a week to get involved folks! The turn-out has not been great, but the participants all promise to be awesome, and the starter panel is really a peach:-)
If you've never participated in a CP jam before (or any webcomic jam for that matter) this could be a great place to try out your sea-legs, and you could win some cool stuff to boot.

I'm new to this, but it looks to me like this year it's not a JAM in the traditional, collaborative sense, and more of an on-your-own sort of thing. Am I right in assuming so? Also, I don't have any regular webcomic anymore, and no recurring characters. Is a one-shot Halloweeny story more or less the goal/norm/ acceptible?
I'd love to take part. The curious seek answers.
thanks.

You're right that it's not a jam, though you needn't have a webcomic, or even any characters of your own to participate (though a little space could be helpful - let me know if you're stuck for that one).
Jon Morris, known for Open Book on Modern Tales, and Jeremy, has done a bang up starter panel which you can find on the Fright Night event page (check the drop downs under the issue cover (look under events). Email me to say you'd like to be onboard, and then start dooling. When you're done post your comic, and I will set up something on the Fright Night page to link to everyone. Jon will choose a winner for his original art, and we will have a site-wide vite to determine who deserves some free banner space (which you can direct to your site or a friends).
That's about it in a nutshell. I hope that helps, and convinces you to join in '-)

Wait a minute.. We're supposed to let you know we're in *before* we have it done? Hmm. Well, I'm likely to be finished in the next day or two anyway...

*sigh* another Fright Night submission over and done with.
i'd have to say i came up with something pretty decent, even though i didn't have any ideas whatsoever until Oct 20th, and didn't actually start working on it until the 22nd. i should really learn to start sooner on these things, but no....
how about you other participants?
what were/are your feelings/opinions on this year's contest?

Who knows? I did mine over the course of last week. I thought it was pretty good. And then, not so much. Doesn't much matter what I think of it, anyway. Had fun drawing the diver though.

I had fun making mine- the coloring turned out nicely, and I used brushes instead of a pen to ink it. :D

The Teague's Fright Night 6 entry
by Teague Tysseling - 10/24/2004 - 17:13
Woo, alright, threw mine together at the last minute and just emailed it off to the Comixpedia.
http://stu.aii.edu/~tgt361/mermilf/mermilf.html
I call it "Mer-MILF: A Piece O' Fish Tail...,er Tale"

Sorry I didn't email first about participating way back when. Before today I only read about the event in the Comixpedia news posts, didn't check out this forum thread 'til after I finished.

if i may make a suggestion Bill?
you should probably have the links to the various Fright Night comics either open in a new window or break out of the Comexpedia frameset .
[code:1:fe2916e0d8]ie. use target="_top" in the <a href> tag[/code:1:fe2916e0d8]
i found it somewhat difficult to view a few of the comics, especially Debra's infinite canvas offering.
just a thought.

FYI, the URL for Teague's entry is malformed.
by Anonymous - 10/25/2004 - 18:15
sorry, seems that's already been mentioned.
don't mind me.

Think all of the URLs are fixed. Links target the parent frame now so you shouldn't be stuck in the frame.
I run this place! Tip the piano player on the way out.

I must say, now that i've seen them all, i think there are quite a few good entries for this year's shindig. Actually, i think all of them are fantastic.
You all sure know how to make a guy feel inadequate!!
But seriously, great work everyone!!! We've got a variety of styles and subjects covered, and i don't think we could ask for a better selection of works all inspired by one simple starter panel.

The " Carl the Homeless Snail" link on http://comixpedia.com/index.php?module=PostWrap&page=fn6 is broken, and should apparently be http://www.24andahalf.com/images/FN6-Twentyfour.gif

The "vote for your favorite" link is just linking back to the main FN6 page.
