WCCA Delay!
Submitted by Mark Mekkes on December 31, 2006 - 20:36
Due to the closing of Smartgroups, the WCCA planning commitee has been forced to do a little last minute scramble to create their own, original voting system for this year. So, unfortunately, the actual nomination mechanism won't be in place until next Monday (January 8th). However this is a perfect opportunity for everyone to take the time to familiarize themselves with the categories and procedures. By taking this time to research and plan your nomination suggestions, you'll help us all by making the best choices possible to create the best results possible.
And most important, keep an eye on the WCCA website since it will be keeping you informed of any developments leading up to our new voting timeline and procedures. Thanks for your patience.

I just want to point out that this doesn't change the timing or pacing of the awards in any way. The first half of the nomination round has always been used for registration and planning your nominations. This simply forces everyone to put a little more thought into your nominations before committing to them.
For anyone who does feel that they needed the full two weeks to fill out the ballot, feel free to ask for help. For most of us it only takes about ten minutes.

Well, with all due respect, you can't really blame the WCCA for Smartgroups closing. It's not like they ran it.

Last minute delays and problems? How out of character for the WCCAs
To be fair, every year the

To be fair, every year the WCCA asks for help and gets none. So if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. So obviously this is all your fault!
