Working On Webcomics… Again

I've been scribbling out ideas for webcomics the last couple of months and I've been trying to get into the habit of sketching again. Before starting Comixpedia back in 2003 I was an update-delinquent, barely average webcomics creator. Well I don't want to rehash my history of making comics here so much as to let folks know that I'm going to use my "user blog" here at Comixpedia as a way to post updates on what I'm working on webcomic-wise. I won't front page these posts so you won't have to read them unless you seek them out. (Although I've been considering writing up my "efforts" to re-enter webcomics creating as a column to try and pass on what works and doesn't)

I've posted almost every unfinished comic project I've messed with to altbrand.com and I've been trying to decide what to work on (it'll probably be all of them at various times through 2007). One project was Planet Z! – sort of a mashup of typical fantasy characters and typical science fiction characters. I was using water colors and washes to do some of the art, but I'm trying to see if I can do something solely on the computer that works (and might be a bit faster). Here's something I finished tonight (and added to the beginning of the archives). Pretty stiff posing but at least some of the brushes+filter look "watery" to me (the blue-skinned character). Anyhow, I know it's "…eh" but gotta start up again somewhere if I'm going to get any better.
